Homemade Twix Bars
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups of flour
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 cup of sugar (for caramel)
- 2/3 cup of heavy cream (for caramel)
- 1/4 cup of salted butter (for caramel)
- Melted chocolate (amount as needed)
Instructions
- Mash the softened butter with powdered sugar, mix in the flour until you can form a dough ball.
- Roll out pieces of dough to fit the shape of the mold and place them in the molds (as shown in the video).
- Bake in the oven at 160°C for 25-30 minutes (keep an eye on them depending on your oven).
- Let them cool, then remove them from the molds.
- Spread melted chocolate into the mold impressions, ensuring it covers them evenly.
- Place the mold in the refrigerator for about fifteen minutes to let the chocolate harden.
- Once it's hardened, add salted caramel inside, then place the biscuit on top.
- Chill for another thirty minutes before removing from the molds and enjoying!
For Homemade Salted Caramel:
- Place the sugar in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until it turns into amber-colored caramel. Avoid stirring until the sugar is dissolved (I swirl the pan to mix).
- Once you have a beautiful caramel, slowly pour in the warm heavy cream while stirring.
- Return to the heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring.
- Remove from the heat and add the pieces of salted butter, stir until melted.
- Pour the caramel into a container (I use a glass jar).
