Here’s the recipe (enough for about 20 apple rings):
- 5 sweet and not too hard apples
- 5 eggs
- 7/8 cup milk
- 3.4 fl oz mineral water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 14.1 oz of flour
You’ll also need:
- Fat for frying (like clarified butter, frying fat, or heat-resistant, neutral-tasting oil, e.g., canola oil)
- Sugar for coating
- Vanilla sauce for drizzling
Peel and core the apples, then slice them into rings (about 4 rings per apple) or into small slices.
Mix all the other ingredients into a smooth batter, then add the apples. Gently stir to ensure all the apple pieces are coated with batter. Now, place the rings or little piles into the hot fat (but not too hot, or they’ll darken too quickly) and fry from both sides.
Afterward, roll them directly in sugar and serve with a drizzle of vanilla sauce (you can find a great vanilla sauce recipe on my blog, link in the profile). Enjoy!
