Ingredients

  • Mayo Cake:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate Frosting:
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

Prepare Cake Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
Add the mayonnaise, lukewarm water, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
Pour the batter into the greased baking pan.

Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Make Frosting:

In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, butter, and sugar. Cook over medium heat until the mixture starts to boil. Boil for just 30 seconds, then remove from heat.
Stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.

Frost the Cake:

Once the cake has cooled, pour the warm frosting over the top. Spread it evenly and allow it to set before serving.
