Ingredients

  • 125g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • For the filling:
  • 4 apples
  • 3-4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the apples into small cubes. In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water.
  2. Cook the diced apples, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and cornstarch mixture in a pan for 5-6 minutes until softened. Set aside to cool.
  3. Mix all the ingredients for the dough until well combined, then chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  4. Reserve a small portion of the dough and mix it with 2 tablespoons of flour to make the crumble topping.
  5. Divide the remaining dough into portions and press each portion into greased muffin molds, forming a crust. Use a fork to poke holes in the bottom of each crust.
  6. Fill each crust with the apple filling, then sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Once cooled, remove from the molds and dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy your delicious mini apple tarts!
